Grief Resources

Grief after losing a pet can feel surprisingly intense — and you don’t have to carry it alone. Below are free, external support options (hotlines, online chats, and support groups). Times are listed in Pacific Time (with the source timezone noted). Hours can change, so please use the links to confirm availability.

If you are in immediate emotional danger, or thinking about harming yourself, call/text 988 (U.S.) or your local emergency number. These pet loss resources are not emergency mental-health crisis lines.

Grief Support Through Eden Veterinary

Pet loss can shake your whole system — not just your heart, but your nervous system, your identity, your sense of home. Eden offers gentle, integrative grief support rooted in the human–animal bond and informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we make space for every part of you: the part that feels numb, the part that feels guilty, the part that can’t stop replaying the end, the part that feels alone, and the part that still feels your pet everywhere.

This is not therapy and it’s not clinical problem-solving. It’s compassionate companionship, reflection, and tools to help you stay connected to your love while learning to carry the loss with more steadiness. Support can include grounding practices, meaning-making rituals, tender guidance through anticipatory grief, and help finding your own language for what your pet meant to you — and what still lives on in you.

If you’re looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to grieve, integrate, and honor your bond, I’m here.
