Sleeping Cat
"Ever since COVID, my vet does not open on weekends, nor do they do walk-ins anymore. And they close early now. I work early morning hours till late... ...Dr. Shanina Halbert and the staff are truly amazing. Dr. Halbert is very gentle caring and professional... ...I will be dropping my original vet since they've been my cat's vet for more than a decade."

About Eden Veterinary

Eden Veterinary was born from a deeply personal evolution. Dr. Shanina Halbert lost her brother early in her career. After spending years in practice, she stepped away to focus on inner healing and emotional integration. Her journey led her through intensive study in Chinese medicine, yoga, meditation, HeartMath, and Internal Family Systems therapy. When she sought to return to veterinary medicine and the house call euthanasia practice she started in 2020, she realized that veterinary care—especially end-of-life care—was missing something vital: ritual, presence, and emotional depth.

When she returned to veterinary practice, she noticed that even in-home goodbyes often lacked the compassion and ceremony such a sacred moment deserves. So she began to sing to her patients during euthanasia, and slowly crafted a new way forward: one that blends clinical grace with spiritual reverence.

Eden Veterinary is the result—a sanctuary that supports both pet and person at every stage of the journey.

About

My name is Dr. Shanina Christina Halbert

Dr. Halbert is a Cornell-trained veterinarian, certified acupuncturist, IFS practitioner, and grief coach offering something rare—deeply attuned, integrative veterinary care that supports both pet and person.

Her work blends Eastern and Western medicine with emotional presence, honoring the human-animal bond through acupuncture, preventive care, ceremonial euthanasia, and grief support. She founded Eden Veterinary to create more than a clinic—she built a sanctuary where healing happens at home.

Dr. Halbert’s career has taken her across the globe—providing veterinary support in international clinics and outreach efforts, as well as leading an online global meditation community. Her care philosophy is informed by extensive training and certifications in HeartMath (Certified Practitioner), Reiki (Level 1), Yoga (Certified Yoga Instructor), Internal Family Systems Therapy (Level II), veterinary acupuncture, and peaceful euthanasia.

Outside of her veterinary work, Shanina is a dynamic soul: you’ll often find her playing beach volleyball, rock climbing, singing in community circles, or laughing with friends over a game of pickleball. Known for her grounded energy and heart-led presence, she brings joy and intention into every interaction. Her beloved cat Andy—who receives regular acupuncture at home—is her daily reminder of the love and healing power between animals and their people.
